Cardigan: Wet Seal
Belt: Target via Goodwill
Funky Skirt: Goodwill
I’m becoming Goodwill-obsessed right now. Especially since dressing this bump is temporary, I find it silly to spend a fortune on clothing. I’ve found a lot of treasures in the skirt section. Basically, all you need to do is find elastic-waist skirts that a grandma/great aunt/school marm would wear, hike them up to your boobs (fit is better for this if the skirt is a tad smaller than what you’d normally wear, since most of these skirts are meant to fit a waist) throw on a tank underneath, or a cardigan over top, belt it…and there you have it! Instant midi skirt that’s on trend and super comfortable! I loved the crazy print of this one, and it had a few pleats right in front, just where I need them. And if you’re lucky, like me, you’ll find a skirt with pockets, and mints still in said pockets from the previous owner.
These shoes will, most definitely, be changed shortly after leaving the house, if not before. I’ve been battling what I believe is sciatic nerve pain this week, and it can be excruciating at times, so the high shoes probably weren’t the best choice. I take flats or sandals with me just in case in situations like these. It’s amazing how much your body and weight shift because of the frontal protrusion that is baby.
Sleep has also been difficult because the pain makes getting comfortable impossible. Mix that with sharing a body with a bucking bronco who thinks the hours of 4am to 6am are reserved for full-blown rodeos, and you have a recipe for an amazing night of sleep. I need a nap. But, it’s all worth it. Knowing my baby girl is safe and well, even if it means uncomfortable sleep. A friend lost her baby recently, and it broke my heart, and I feel guilty complaining about anything, but I just try to be honest in documenting my pregnancy. Sarcasm helps me cope. And I’m thankful every day for this little joy of a babe growing inside me.
