Last week was sort of a big week. Lark FINALLY started crawling! Like, really and truly crawling. She would take a stride or two here and there, but would never really ‘take off.’ She seemed content to just sit and play or stand, us holding her, of course! She also like to pull herself up on things and has been doing that for awhile now and she started balancing on her hands and knees at 6 months, so we have been baffled as to why she wouldn’t crawl. Well last Tuesday, as I was packing her bag for the day, I saw her high-tailing it out of the corner of my eye! She took off, full speed, across the living room floor after the cat! It was adorable and actually kind of funny. I didn’t get a chance to film that first ‘burst,’ but we got plenty of footage elsewhere! She’s on a roll and the cats are FREAKED! She also stood, completely unassisted and perfectly balance, for about 4-5 seconds. We were amazed and shocked, and again, didn’t have the camera on her, but we figure it won’t be long until she takes off runnin…Lark says, “game on, mom & dad!” We are in for it, but so excited for a new adventure!!
Brennan had his last day of school for the summer and is now, or will be in September, officially an upperclassman! He also finished driver’s training and got his permit. How scary is that?! My number one rule is no driving with the baby in the car, and probably no me in the car either! Ha! The thought of him in control of a moving vehicle just scares the ever living you-know-what out of me!
I also, FINALLY, got the rest of my bridesmaids rounded up. Feels good and I’m getting excited, even though I had a massive panic attack about wedding planning on Friday that ended in tears! Wedding planning is no joke. Vegas sounds like a much better option right now! I know it will all work out in the end, but it’s stressful!
We rounded our week out with Father’s Day. We went to dinner at, you guessed it, Buffalo Wild Wings, because James can’t go more than a week without his wing fix. Then we ran around the park like fools with a child too old for the park and one too young for the park…but we laughed and enjoyed ourselves. I’m thankful for James, and these kids are beyond lucky to have him as their dad.
