Dearest little bean,
I called our Canada family and gave them the news! First up was your Papa Fiddler and your Uncles James and Anthony…they were beyond excited!! I was very nervous to tell them the news, as I am with everyone, but they were so happy! Someday I’ll tell you the story about my dad. He wasn’t there when I was born, but he is here now and I feel so grateful that I’m able to share this experience with him. He’s a very big part of our lives and you’ll just love him.
Your great auntie Barb was up next and she screamed on the phone!! She is so very excited to meet you and loves you so much already! I just adore her and you’ll learn in life that an aunt is a very special and important person.
Your great-grandma…yes, GREAT-grandma…was very excited as well. This makes me giddy!! I didn’t really experience what it was like to have a grandma as a child, let alone a great-grandma. You really are the luckiest kid! Great -grandma Anne is so sweet and I know she’s over-the-moon excited. She kept her composure on the phone with me, but right after, your papa Fidd sent me text saying she called him in tears…tears of joy! This means more to me than I think anyone could ever realize.
There were many years as a child that I wondered if the Fiddler family would ever be part of my life, and now, as an adult, they are such a huge part of it and though there was a lot to overcome, I love them more than I could ever say and I am so happy that they get to be a part of this wonderful time in my life. You’re the first “next generation” Fiddler!! And full of Canadian blood. Papa Fid thinks you’ll be a hockey player, of course.
They’re very special to me, and you are too. And to have you all in my life is the best feeling.
