Putting together a baby registry was overwhelming, to say the least. There is just so much crap to choose from! I did my best at following a registry guide of sorts, but ultimately decided that a lot of their suggestions were not items I felt I needed. I ended up registering at three, yes, THREE, different stores to give people options and frankly, because not one place had all that I wanted. I’ve put together my “top” items that I feel are a necessity to us once baby is here.
– Graco Modes Click Connect Stroller and Infant Car Seat – I fell in love with this stroller at the very beginning, but felt it was a little bulky for my taste. But I loved the different seat position options that it offered. After learning that the infant car seat attaches to the stroller base by itself, I was sold! We chose the more neutral print since it’s a pricey piece and wanted to be able to use it for future babes…because, yes, I’m just crazy enough to do this all again 😉
– Graco Pack n Play in Harlow – Little bean will likely be in our room for awhile until we get the hang of things, so her little home for that time will be a pack n play. It seemed the most obvious choice since it’s used for much more than that in the future. And it has owls all over it, so obviously I love it.
– JJ Cole Caprice Diaper Bag in Purple – Oh diaper bags…oh picky me…I’ve been lusting after Petunia Pickle Bottom forever, but it’s just getting more and more silly to me to spend that much on a bag. So I found this one in a cute little print that isn’t too baby-ish and still looks somewhat like a fun, “normal” bag. And costs significantly less!
– Crib Sheets from Target – We didn’t go with a traditional crib bedding set, because I just generally don’t like them. So I chose a few sheets in shades of orange to match the crib skirt (that I’ve yet to make). I love simple little prints like these.
– Boppy Pillow in a Pink Owl print – This is self-explanatory, I’m sure.
– Onesies (these are from Target) – I’ve been told time and time again that, for new babies, onesies are pretty much where it’s at, and I can’t resist them in cute colors like these!
– Lansinoh Breast Milk Storage Bags – I plan to breastfeed and would like to continue once I go back to work which will involved pumping and storing milk for daycare days. I liked the reviews on these better than the Medela brand, so we’ll see how they do!
– Lansinoh Nursing Pads – Again, self-explanatory…
– Muslin Swaddling Blankets – These Aden & Anais blankets are everywhere, and come in the cutest prints. They’re a little pricier than other blankets, but you get multiple in a pack. I just love how soft and airy they are. I also have a couple of SwaddleMe swaddlers that I’m looking forward to using as well.
– Burp Cloths (these are Zutano Brand) – I registered for cloth diapers after being told multiple times that these are the best burp cloths, but being me, I love fun prints! So I need cute ones for “public” outings…although, I’m guessing all vanity will go out the window once I pop this kid out.
– Bottles (these are Tommee Tippee brand and I just think they’re cute) – Our schedules will require bottle feeding at some point, and people say babies sometimes like other bottles more than other so I registered for a couple of popular brands, including these cute little Tommee Tippees.
Just a few items I think will help us in the transition to “new” parents, since I’m new to parenting a newborn, and James has parented one in 15 years…but I’m so looking forward to it!
