Now that we have our crib, my brain is thinking more and more about bedding. I am still loving the chevron sheets from Target that I mentioned in my previous room posts, and may still purchase those. But I found a couple of fabrics I’m loving at the moment.
I had wanted to sew up some crib sheets with these fabrics, but it’s fairly pricey, so I’m thinking that purchasing coordinating crib sheets is a more logical solution. But I would like to make my own crib skirt and changing pad cover, with some additional fabric accents elsewhere, like pillows, etc. I’m not planning on a fancy quilt or a crib bumper for the crib, but these little additions will make it so adorable.
My two favorites at the moment are by Michael Miller Fabrics. It’s hard to pick favorites when so many of their collections are gorgeous. And since both James and I are lovers of the woodland theme and wildlife, both fit the bill.

I’m leaning more toward the top option, since I’m loving the inclusion of some “girly” colors. We knew that green and orange would be the basis, whether boy or girl, but now that we know the gender, we can include some accents. I didn’t want anything crazy pink or baby-ish. This color palette is beautiful. The second option also has an amazing palette, with the main color being brown, which is also the color of our crib and the rocker I’d like (but still don’t own).
I keep gravitating towards owls, since I adore owls as it is, but I feel like a general woodland theme can include owls in a more subtle way.
I’m seriously in a sewing mood…and now that the crib is in hand, I can get going! You know, because I love taking on projects that I’m unlikely to finish. But seeing as how this project has a deadline (aka a baby), maybe I’ll finish for once!
Wish me luck!
