Dearest little bean,
It’s been quiet around here, but I haven’t stopped thinking about you every minute of every day. It distracts me at times and makes it hard to get things done, but I’m just SO excited you’re here with me and we get to grow together!
On Saturday there was a party for your mama’s work. When you work for Santa, it’s too busy at Christmastime to party it up, so we wait until January. This year you were there with us, obviously, but no one around us has any idea. The theme of the party was “British Christmas.” Your mama is obsessed with anything British, specifically the royal family. And more specifically, William and Kate! They did a skit in the middle of the program where they called employees up to play members of the royal family. And they chose me to play Duchess Kate! I was mortified and excited all at once. Well, Duchess Kate, herself, is pregnant so in playing my part, I had to answer a couple questions and my boss sticks a microphone in my face and asks, “So I hear you have a bun in the oven? A royal baby is on the way?” To which I replied, “I guess so!” It was so hilarious and ironic because I actually AM pregnant, but again, no one knows!! Your dad was sitting way back at our table and I couldn’t see him, but he was shocked and laughed about it also. Later in the night that same boss came by and said hello to all of us and told me, “Don’t you think you’re up a little late for a pregnant lady?” It was too much and we got some big laughs out of the whole thing.
This pregnancy surrounds us now, and though no one knows, it seems like they do.
We will be telling people about you in about a month and a half and I’m both excited and very nervous!
You’re growing a cute little face this week! As well as hands and feet.
Hope you’re toasty warm in there, mama is freezing in 11 degree weather!
