So it’s Christmas time…yeah, I know! How did that even happen?! Oh right, 3 months of maternity leave…I’ve been off in my own little world for so long, I’d forgotten all about the real world. Not to mention, said leave was unpaid so the thought of purchasing gifts hasn’t even registered in my brain since I’ve yet to receive my first paycheck since being back to work. Note to self: birth next baby in the summer, away from holidays…
I’ve put together a small wish list for both Lark & I. With her being so little, even though she’s very aware of her surroundings, she’s still too young for most gifts and my mom has her set up with enough toys for the next 3 years! But I have a few items I’m loving that I WISH Santa would bring. No, literally, because without Santa, we don’t have much hope!
Mama wants/needs some new boots! I’ve worn my brown pair to the point of the heel being completely busted. But I still wear them. Those janky boots were made fer walkin’! I found these lovelies at Sears of all places! Is it just me, or is Sears moving up in the world?! I adore them, and happen to know that a certain Santa already purchased them, and it’s very difficult for me to not wear them now!
I may be a new mom, and sometimes don’t have time for makeup, but I’m still obsessed with makeup in any form or fashion! I own the Naked 1 & 2 palettes and they’re beyond amazing! So imagine my delight when I found out Naked 3 was on its way! And all shadows are rosy-gold tones (insert pathetic sales pitch to James about how I NEED it because it matches my ring!).
I’m not a big coffee drinker, but I do like a cup on occasion. I seriously want a Keurig coffee maker! Especially since they also now have the Snapple tea cups! YUM!
Littlest bean, Lark, will be in need of a high chair soon. And how awesome is this orange, space-age looking contraption?! The price tag is hefty on this Boon high chair, and definitely not in any kind of budget, but it’s still just perfect!
Just like everyone else, I’m loving Freshly Picked moccasins, and this platinum color is to die for! But at $60 a pop, I’m feverishly searching for leather and trying to muster up the courage to learn to sew Lark a pair myself. I can’t justify $60 for shoes for feet that will outgrow them so soon, but goodness they’re lovely!
Just like the high chair, these little storage boxes for baby food, which I’m planning to make myself, are a nifty necessity! And could easily double as toys when mama needs 5 minutes to finish dinner, because you know how babies love kitchen odds and ends! These Oxo Tot storage containers are both cute AND useful!
And because it seems like she’s always lacking in the pants/jacket department now that it’s cold, I love these picks from…where else?! Target!!
I’ve also got two boys at home, and I’ve been trying to come up with ideas for them as well.
I generally always get James some new tees, because he loves a good graphic tee. These ones are from Old Navy and we always love the selection they have. They’re always a great price, too!
The Samsung Gear watch, to go with his already-owned Samsung Galaxy phone, is a pipe dream! I wish I could afford it right now, because he’d die over the orange color!
Detroit Tigers gear is always an option as well, since he’s a super fan! He’s a big hat lover too.
And shoes and slippers tend to be a staple also…he’s a footwear fanatic!
Brennan is getting harder and harder to shop for! Teenage boys are not the easiest when it comes to gift-giving, especially since all they seem to be interested in these days is video games and electronics!
He’s always listening to music on his phone or Kindle, but he somehow ALWAYS manages to break ear buds. So ear buds are an idea I have in mind, along with the hoodies called Hoodie Buddies, that actually have ear buds built into the strings!
He’s also, very slowly, starting to take more care when it comes to hygiene, especially since he (GASP!) started shaving recently. Axe has this great little gift set out right now that comes in a toiletry bag.
And the beanie, from PacSun, just ruled.
Lego Mini Figures are a staple for all of us because they’re just so fun!
What are you hoping for under your tree? If you have any ideas for men and teenage boys, shoot them my way! Because I’ve yet to even start the Christmas shopping process….SLACKER!
