Dearest little bean,
What crazy days we’ve been having! This tornado of craziness can be summed up by a literal tornado warning on Monday! Yes, you survived your first tornado warning. Lucky for us, it never amounted to much except a crazy thunderstorm, but your mama was stressed out! Not to mention it happened during a crazy work day where the office was in shambles due to new carpet being installed.
We’ve had a busy schedule, I worked over the weekend, had to take a 3 hour glucose test last Friday, (which came back normal, yay!) and Brennan has baseball games multiple days a week…And you’re a busy little girl these days, kicking like crazy and reminding me you’re right there with me and that I shouldn’t stress so much and get more rest. I had a few very uncomfortable days last week because I pushed myself too hard. I need to remember you need mama’s rest too!
Sunday was Father’s Day and dad loved your little birdie card that you got him. Brennan’s card was potty humor, of course, because we think mundane things like that are funny. I bought some beer and favorite snacks for dad. He ended up getting a promotion at work (Hooray!) which made it so he didn’t go on his work trips that were planned…I intended on using that work trip time to put together a better gift for him, but then he stayed…and my schedule proceeded to be crazy! But he loved his gifts…we joked last week that your name is going to be Great Lake Edmund Fitzgerald Porter after a beer name on a print we have hanging the kitchen…so that’s what kind of beer I bought him…don’t worry, it’s not really your name.
I made french toast from apple crisp bread for a special breakfast. It was delicious! Brennan was supposed to have a game that day, but it got cancelled. So we decided last minute to see Man of Steel as a group of dirty hoodlums who didn’t even shower all day. Some days are just like that. Then had some steaks for dinner. It was low-key, but it was all for him…
That dad of yours…I can’t even put into words how much he means to me. And I can’t wait to watch the relationship between you two grow. I know you’ll stare at him in awe, like I do…we are all so lucky to have him. He is already such a great dad to Brennan, and I know he’s going to love you so very much. He’s so patient and understanding, and I’m…well…not sometimes, but he still loves me anyway and always manages to put a smile on my face. He’s the best there is, I can guarantee you that…
love you to the moon,
