We got home last night from a long, 3-day weekend that we spent up in northern Michigan. I’m suffering from a long weekend hangover where I need extra days to recover.
Last week was a long week. Lark was so fussy for multiple nights in a row, like inconsolable fussy. On some nights, she appeared to be hungry, hungry-for-solids hungry, not milk-hungry. But other nights there was nothing we could do but try to snuggle her to sleep, which was hit or miss. It had me going crazy because I didn’t know what was wrong or how to fix it. We figure she could be teething, but we have thought that multiple times over the past few months. Over the weekend she seemed to be doing better, which was also in part to a 24-hour allergy medication to help keep her immune system in check.
Our weekend was full of relaxing and hanging with (James’) family. Lark got to play with cousins…the older ones adore her, and Lucas (2.5 months younger) thinks she’s hilarious. It’s so funny to watch babies interact, they’re so intrigued by each other.
We ate lots of food, or, everyone else did. My options are still limited, but it’s not bad these days. Lark was doing much better, compared to the week before, but we were still nursing some bad eczema spots. Otherwise she was happy as a Lark all weekend and didn’t have any of her fits of rage, aside from one in the car driving up.
She swung, and splashed in a pool, and played and played. Even had her first bonfire!
We got a start on our wedding part as well when I asked James’ sister to be Maid of Honor, and her two kids, Audrey and Ayden, to be a flower girl and ring bearer…then asked James and my new nephew (James’ brother’s son), Lucas, to be a ring bearer as well…they were special moments and I’m so thankful to have all of them in my life. We’re already family, the official “i do’s” will just be icing on the cake!
