This last weekend, James’ stepmom and sister, or my “mother-in-law” and “sister,” for all intensive purposes, since I’m extremely close to both of them, threw a baby shower in honor of little bean! We had a lot of people who couldn’t make for one reason or another, but we had a pretty full room and everything was amazing! It was really hard not having my mom there, but I’m so grateful for all of the amazing women in James’ family that have always made me feel like family, since day one when I showed up in Michigan and none of them knew me. We had two of three grandmas in attendance, James’ mom and stepmom, and lots of aunts, great aunts, cousins, friends…and we couldn’t be happier about the love little bean has and will continue to receive from these amazing families…
It was fun to spend the afternoon with them and I managed to only get emotional toward the end…a feat for someone as emotional as me!
We got lots of cute gifts, lots of cute outfits, quite a few necessities, and some handmade quilts and blankets that will be passed down for years to come! I ate WAY too much…what else is new?! And laughed a lot, which felt great.
The ladies played gumball guessing games, safety pin “fishing” in rice and a lively round of bingo while I opened gifts. It really was a great day and I appreciate, so much, all that has been done for us along this little journey called pregnancy…
The shower being over has me feeling overwhelmed since it was yet another event in the way of giving birth to the baby girl, and now it’s passed, meaning we’re THAT much closer…and I have TONS of laundry to do! We are definitely seeing pink these days! Time to get her room finished…for real this time…

|These two weren’t born my sisters, but I can’t imagine life without them.
So glad to have them as aunts to little bean.
Julie, on the left, is due in November! Two babies in one year!

The happy face on the belly is from them 😉
